If we were sitting down having coffee today...
...I'd start by telling you I just banned coffee creamer from my house, so for those times I actually do drink coffee, it will now be laden with sugar and half and half instead. At least then I will know exactly what I am putting in it, which is becoming my new food philosophy. And since I'm the only one that ever used it, I won't have to listen to any complaints. Sorry, Coffee Mate, you're out of here.
...I'd tell you that I had another successful run to the library this week. I am just amazed by the books they have, week after week! Just look at this fabulous pile that's awaiting me.
...I'd say that yes, there are knitting books in there! Thanks for noticing. I decided it's time that I learn. Or re-learn, actually. When I was around eight years old my grandmother taught me how to cast on and I could do basic rows, but I never learned any other type of stitch or how to bind off. There's really no point in knitting if you can't keep the finished product together. So I am very excited to give this a try. Between Start to Knit and You Tube, I hope I'm able to get the hang of it.
Because really, who wouldn't want to make a scarf like this?
...I'd show you Greta's new kicks because I think they're so cute. She is just a little bit over one year old now, and she is already totally into shoes and clothes. She loves to get dressed and loves to put on her shoes. I think pink Converse are a pretty good choice. (Thanks, Grandma!)
...I'd hope that you noticed the new blog theme I've come up with because I worked really hard on it. It's one of those things that snowballs on you, like changing something in your house. You paint the walls and then the furniture looks ugly. I changed the header on the blog, and then nothing else matched. So over the course of two days I snuck some time to make all the changes I wanted to for now, and I really, really love it. I hope you do too.
...I'd tell you that I hope to get my sewing series off the ground next week, and I hope that it turns out to be helpful and that it's something you would be interested in.

...I'd reveal to you that I have some big plans for my little Etsy shop, and I'm hoping to find the time to make some new designs soon that will take the shop in a different direction. I'd tell you that I've been researching some materials that I never thought I'd be looking at, but I'm really excited by what's to come if everything pans out right. With that in mind, I'm looking to clear out a lot of the older stuff that's in the shop now, so I'd tell you you can use COFFEEDATE at checkout for 15% off what's already in the shop. A lot of what's there now is going to get phased out, so get it while you can!
...I'd ask you if you entered to win an initial hoop from me yet over at Heidi's blog, or if you entered to win a credit to Heidi's shop when I posted it the other day. I'd tell you that I would be so happy for you if you won!
...I'd tell you that after my post on Wednesday, we did make a snowman! Actually, Gus and the hubs did, but the snow was really heavy, so they made a sleeping snowman instead. Pretty smart thinking.
...I'd be anxiously awaiting what you had to tell me over coffee, and then I'd tell you that I hope you have a really good weekend!

Linking up with Rags to Stitches

Good luck knitting! It's super easy, especially with youtube! That's definitely how I research any new stitches before trying them out, have fun!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could knit! I can't crochet or knit, but wish I could, tho I'd have nothing to knit or crochet.

ReplyDeleteIt's a never-ending quest, isn't it? I like the current look, and the simplicity and openness of the font you used for the sections under your banner.
I wish I had gained my knitting knowledge from a dexterous elder... instead I learned from Youtube. No shame in that, just a little remorse.
I really enjoyed this blog post. I'd love to have you over for coffee sometime. Your shop is really cute, too.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have coffee with you :) what a great week! I recently went to library and got a bunch of childbirth/pregnancy books...it might have been overkill! I've been crocheting and made the cutest baby booties for a friend's shower last week. The only other thing I can crochet is a cowl/scarf. I need to branch out!
ReplyDeleteLove to have tea with you. I actually met with a friend today for a latte and I definitely can't have another. I can't wait to see your sewing series. I'm interested to see what you going to teach us. I'd probably tell you that I'm going to see a movie tonight. I have been really wanting to see The Silver linings Playbook and finally arranged for the time. I'd probably also mention that we did not get as much snow as predicted down here in Virginia. Anyway, have a lovely Friday!
