I cannot believe that 2012 is over. I still feel like baby Greta has just been born, but she's now a year old! We've done so many fun things this year and both the shop and the blog have grown, both of which continue to amaze me. It seems like I just wrote up a post for the new year with my goals, and now here I am to check in and see how I did.
1. Regain pre-babies weight.
I actually have no idea on this one as far as a number on the scale goes. I probably should actually weigh myself at some point. But my old pants fit fine, so I'm happy.
2. Etsy shop goal- reach 200 sales in the second year of being open.
Remember this one was to have my shop screen say "200 sales" and holy moly, I'm actually on my way to 500. I cannot cannot cannot believe it and am so thankful for the support!
3. Become a better, more confident sewer.
Definitely feel like I completed this one. I am not afraid of sitting down at the machine anymore. I can even do curved lines somewhat. This is something I definitely want to get better with even more in the coming year.
4. Learn to say no.
Hmmm...doing ok? It's easier to say no online than in real life, I will say that.
5. Take better listing photos.
This is always going to be a work in progress. But I'm pleased with the progress I've made in this area and plan to continue to make them cleaner and brighter so I'm going to say that this one is complete.
6. Accessorize myself and work on all-around appearance maintenance.
I've managed to maintain a shorter haircut that doesn't drive me crazy and have gotten compliments on it so I'll be keeping that style. I've even been going for regular maintenance haircuts, which has never happened before. I also have a nice jewelry collection in the works and am trying very hard to actually put it on when I go out.
7. Develop and maintain a cleaning schedule.
This never really happened. In my defense, we were working on the house into November and there was always a mess to deal with. But we just did that massive cleaning for Christmas so it was kind of a reset button on the dust and kid crumbs, so now it is just to maintain it. I will be trying to make myself a schedule to follow, or at least write down when I've done something so I can see how long it's been since I've last done it.
So overall I think I did pretty good. I've really been thinking about my goals for 2013 and all the things I'd like to accomplish. I've got it down to a pretty solid list, which I will post tomorrow. I hope you'll come back by and check it out and give me some encouragement. I think it's going to be a good year.

A round of applause! You did really well. I'm so impressed with your shop numbers and you should definitely be proud of yourself!
ReplyDeleteI posted my goal recap today, as well. Can't believe it's the last day of the year already...
Congrats. Its great when you are able to set goals and meet them! While my mother was visiting me she had to sew a few things and actually taught me some techniques that I had no clue about and I've been sewing for 2 years! I think once your more comfortable at the sewing machine you'll make tons of stuff. Can't wait to see what your goals are for the new year.
