1. Regain pre-babies weight.
I was at the doctor just the other day and I want to say that I am a handful of pounds from where I'd like to be, but I'm not on any plan to get there right now. My pants fit, which was my main goal, so the rest is just to get to that "ideal" number that's in my head. However, I realized that
2. Etsy shop goal- reach 200 sales in the second year of being open. (complete)
Holy moly! I'm at 281 sales. When I wrote that, I wanted to see "200 sales" on my shop's main page. I suppose I should change this to "a total of 200 sales made in my second year open." I am thrilled and humbled at that number!
3. Become a better, more confident sewer.
Doing good! I don't really fear my sewing machine anymore or have worries that it's going to do something I don't want it to do. Granted, I still don't do much more than a straight stitch, but it's a darn good straight stitch. I'm going to add to this goal with two more: 1. I want to sew a quilt this year, even if it's just a small baby quilt. 2. I want to sew a bag for myself. With each new child there seems to be more stuff and I'd like to come up with a bag that has enough space and pockets for all the stuff I currently carry.
4. Learn to say no.
Um, yea. I'm not good at this. But I'm trying to listen to all of my very wise guest posters who offer this piece of advice over and again. I know I need to say no when I've got too much going on, but it's hard to do!

5. Take better listing photos.
This is going well! I've officially taken over Gus's room as my work space so I'm not having to battle to get good light. I'm trying to try some different "positions" for my items as well.
I'm hoping to make sure they are all nice and clear and look consistent, something I did not have at the beginning. So I'm happy with the progress on this one.
6. Accessorize myself and work on all-around appearance maintenance.
I need to do a separate post about all the lovely jewelry I have acquired from Etsy in the past few months, mostly in the way of trades (awesome!). A preview:
(Oh, yes, I bought it.)
Now that my jewelry box is no longer full of necklaces from Express, I don't feel like an overaged teenager anymore. (Is there a theme running through all of my appearance-related postings lately?) I have been making an effort to wear at least one piece when I leave the house, and sometimes even have a necklace on if I'm just home.
As far as hair and nail polish are concerned, I ended up cutting my hair short (to me, short is touching the base of my neck) in a bob which was great for awhile. Easy to flat iron and cute in general. But now it's getting warmer and I have a tiny pony tail and 3 butterfly clips holding back all the small pieces of hair so I don't go insane with it all on my neck. I think I need a little more length. And with all the house projects, fingernail polish is out of the question. I'm not even trying. But toenails are in full effect- yay summer!
7. Develop and maintain a cleaning schedule.
Nope. I'm really trying, but as I've said before, if there's a house project, then the cleaning falls to the side. If I clean, then the projects don't get done. I did make a schedule but then stuff would inevitably happen to get in the way. Maybe this should be goal number 1.
How are you doing with your goals for the year? Are you sticking to them? Making changes?

congrats on your sales!!! 1 and 6 are definitly something I need to work on. I feel like all my pre-baby stuff makes me look like I'm still in college. Not that I can fit into most of my pre-baby stuff....
ReplyDeleteWay to go on making so many sales. I too am working on #4, as you already know if you got my email from yesterday :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July week!
High fives for all of those sales! Woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteYou've reminded me that I need to do an update of my own. Some of my areas have definitely backslid since I last checked in...
You are doing SO good. I need to re-evaluate my goals too... Maybe next year hahaha.
